Now that the days are getting cooler and shorter, and I've gotten a few things off my schedule, I'm considering picking up another side project. I'd like to revisit the identity problem. Everything else I'd like to work on at some level involves users, accounts, authorization, and identity.
I am thinking about crossing the Flickr authentication API with OpenID. The API part of Web 2.0 has largely been a no show. I appreciate the simplicity of REST, but it doesn't work without authentication standards in place. It is hard to believe we've made it this far with the ad hoc identity systems we have now. I'm going to give this awhile to gestate, but if you have any ideas, I'm open to them. Looks like Brandon is working on Id these days.
